National AllocationsSince 1997, a formula has been in place for determining sizes of national teams. Countries that have competed before have an established quota, and are categorized as “A”, “B” or “C” countries if they have respectively 6 or more, 3–5 or 1–2 representatives. Any “A” country that has at least ½ of its players in the top 25%, and no more than one player in the bottom 25%, gets an extra player for the next Championship. Any “B” country that has at least three of its players in the top 33%, and no more than one player in the bottom 25%, gets an extra player for the next Championship. Any “C” country that has all of its players in the top 50% gets an extra player for the next Championship. |
