This draft schedule for the 2009 World Scrabble Championship is subject to revision. Unless otherwise specified, all events take place at the Zon Regency Hotel, Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Wednesday, 25 November	6:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M.	Registration: all players who intend to compete must register in person with the organisers.
Wednesday, 25 November	8:30 P.M. – 9:30 P.M.	Gala Dinner for all contestants, Convention and Exhibition Centre, Level 6, Zon Regency Hotel. National dress recommended.
Thursday, 26 November	9:00 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.	Rounds 1–4.
	1:30 P.M. – 2:30 P.M.	Lunch.
	2:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.	Rounds 5–8.
Friday, 27 November	9:00 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.	Rounds 9–12.
	1:30 P.M. – 2:30 P.M.	Lunch.
	2:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.	Rounds 13–16.
	8:00 P.M. –	WESPA Biennial General Meeting
Saturday, 28 November	9:00 A.M. – 1:15 P.M.	Rounds 17–20.
	1:15 P.M. – 2:15 P.M.	Lunch.
	2:15 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.	Rounds 21–24. More time is allotted for these rounds because each round’s pairings will be based on the preceding round’s standings, and will not be available until the last result is reported.
Sunday, 29 November	10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.	Final Rounds 1 & 2.
	12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M.	Lunch.
	1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.	Final Rounds 3–5. The finals are a best-of-five match; Rounds 4 and 5 will be played only if necessary.
	4:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.	Prize Ceremony, presented by the Chief Minister of Johor Bahru. Will be delayed if necessary until the end of the finals.
