Ganesh Asirvatham (MYS) has a two-game lead at 12-1 over Adam Logan (CAN), Naween Fernando (AUS) and Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (THA), all at 10-3. Also in the top pairing group of 10 players are Panupol Sujjayakorn (Wsc) at 9.5-3.5 and Nigel Richards (NZL), Andrew Fisher (AUS), Paul Cleary (AUS), Joel Sherman (USA) and John O'Laughlin (USA) at 9-3.

Ganesh plays Joel at Board 1, Adam plays Panupol at Board 2, and Naween plays John at Board 3.

Joel beat Ganesh by a wide margin, but the other two top pairings made up for it with a six-point game at Board 2, and a 418-416 win for Naween.
